FINALLY!

After spending a couple of intense days in the depths of Home Studio, Charlie finally finished the first - oh so heavy (in many aspects) single - and you know what that means?

Deathtime finally releases its first single from the second, forthcoming album!

The release date is 7.2.

(Same date, when the new season of Charlie's favourite tv-series, The Simpsons, airs in Finland - double celebration, eh?)

So, stay tuned with us, and male sure you check this one out!

This time Deathtime has left out some its natural brutality, and reached the new levels of suspenceful athmospheres (almost avangardic) - that's why the a-side of the single have been labeled as "Dark Death Metal". - And don't worry, Charlie hasn't grown an ovaries, the second single is intented to be a rather classic Deathtime release.

The single contains also two b-sides, the demo of Prayer of Death, and an unreleased cover song back from 2010!

Do Not Miss This!

Phil Anselmo Says The Darnest Thing

"And some bands come across as pretty generic. But I would take a lo-fi fucking rough shit recording of a great band over some over-produced, sleek fucking product that sells a million any fucking day at this point in my life" - P. Anselmo

Taken from Down's Facebook wall, as a part of the answer to the topic: On the state of heavy metal right now

Yup, isn't it obvious that it must mean Deathtime? -_^

At least Deathtime's most popular releases are those that are raw and brutal, aka. lo-fi in production. They sure don't sound generic, nor something that tries to be a part of this modern metal sound that just doesn't seem right, at least to those who are into classics (people who uses the word "that's old" usually are those who don't get what the classics are, am I wrong?).

Now, a little studio diary entry as we speak.

There are not much to be said. As writing this, Charlie is preparing to record more vocals, and to rewrite some of the lyrics too - in this case the method is to first write down many different lyric versions, and then use the ones that build the song.

Now, if you are about to ask that is Deathtime being corrupted to use some over-production this time? I should say no. The production is sure higher than before, but we aren't trying to "wash the soap" so to speak. But for some reason, this first single just demands a lot of work. So we remain stubborn to win this challenge, and when we prevail, you'll hear the end result that'll_sweep_you_off like a son of a bitch!

And I must say, that there are some new, quite tasty elements added to the song.

You'll hear them when it's time for that.

So stay tuned!

21.12.2012 COUNTDOWN!

The title may (also) mean the release date of the new album of Deathtime, but let us hope it doesn't because this stuff needs to get released as soon as possible.

So like it was said before, the production of the first single release haven't been too easy so far.

But after experimenting and testing, it is decided that Deathtime will release this piece of work in a way it is.

The mix is heavier and rawer than planned, yet it gives more natural evolution from the earlier, lo-fi, production.

There are now more features in the song, that you cannot find from the demo version, like orchestral backgrounds from heaving choirs to suspenseful strings (wow)!

Now, let's see what's going on!

These are the songs that have been recorded now.

Prayer of Death.

Like said before, the music is in by now, only the mix were the main problem with this. And after testing with diffent equipment and listeners, it is decided that this version will be finished, perhaps slightly mixed.

So the next move is to record the vocals and of course finish the lyrics.

And pretty much after that it is ready to be released!

Infanticide

This is intended to be the second single.

At this point it is almost completely replayed (and rearranged slightly) and therefore finished!

Lyrics, vocals etc etc still to go.

Gorestorm

It was very close that this more traditional kick ass Deathtime tune didn't become a single, however it is now under the (home) studio processing so to speak, and it should be one of the first songs that are ready for the album!

Under the Shadow of the Crescent Moon

This one weren't on the original demo, yet it was planned and some of its lyrics were written too. Now it is written and the basic foundations are laid for this one. Perhaps it'll be used as extra material, or not.

Bleed For Me

And this one too is one of those extra songs, that never been turned into a demo. Yet some sort of non-canonized, pre/per-version of the song have been played before, and there are also some guitar and drum tracks that could have formed a demo. And the lyrics are written too. So, let's see where this final version goes.

(Yeah, these are all, oh so selling titles for any band!)
